Asheville School annual school-wide World Awareness Day is scheduled for March 7, and their Students for Environmental Awareness club is looking for speakers and workshop leaders.
Past workshops have included: Cooking Organic Food; Water Testing; Farming Practices; Poverty Simulation; Traditional Gospels; Chinese Tea Service; Beekeeping; and AIDS in Malawi (search www.ashevilleschool.org for “World Awareness Day” for many more).
The history of Asheville School’s World Awareness Day dates back to Spring Rites Day–a day formed in 1982 as a time to revitalize and clean up campus prior to spring break–and eventually evolved into World Awareness Day in 1991.
If you are interested in leading a workshop or have any questions, please get in touch with Andrew Kegg, Spanish Instructor, at KeggA@ashevilleschool.org. Ideas must be submitted prior to December 17.
