Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway Fundraiser
Universal Joint
August 23, 2014
11:30 am – 7 pm
The Universal Joint at 784 Haywood Rd, is hosting a fundraiser for the Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway (FOHCG) on August 23, 2014. We will be hanging out from 11:30 am until about 7 pm, that day fundraising for park improvements along the Hominy Creek Greenway from Shelburne Rd to Sand Hill Rd. All beer sales from the day will be donated, along with a raffle for many great items from local businesses, such as Harvest Records, Second Gear, and King Daddy’s.
Come out and join us! Learn about the exciting projects we have planned for the next year, volunteer opportunities, meet board members, and help us raise funds for proposed park improvements. FOHCG was recently awarded a grant from Buncombe County to support many of the improvements, but we still need to raise additional funds for the projects.
Please contact Nancy Watford at nancy@riverlink.org if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!
Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway is a local organization that works with the community to manage and create community parkland that maintains its wild nature, preserves the area’s rich history, and connects the community to the river and to downtown.
Currently our focus is maintaining and improving the City parkland known as the Hominy Creek Greenway or “the waller tract” between Shelburne and Sand Hill Rds. in West Asheville.
