September 14th from 10:30-4:00 is the fifth annual West Asheville Garden Stroll (WAGS), a community supported, free event. During the first four years over a thousand people have toured 60+ gardens in West Asheville, many visiting West Asheville for their first time.

WAGS has relied on local organizations and businesses to sponsor this event which benefits West Asheville by people walking though our community on the stroll and through service projects sponsored by WAGS. This year they are starting a “seed grant” program for community groups and businesses to help garden and/or beautification projects.

This year’s stroll in West Asheville starts at Christopher’s garden and includes another dozen gardens between Waynesville and Westwood. The opening celebration will include the Fairies on Stilts troupe and children’s activities in the garden.

A variety of sponsorship levels are available and more details can be viewed at the West Asheville Garden Stroll website. Donations must be received by August 15th for inclusion in the Stroll Guide. More details about the stroll and sponsorship information are in available in this WAGS Support Flyer. If you have questions, email or call at 398.0580.
