Saturday, May 3rd from 10:30 to 12:00
Co-Hosted by Nancy Hyton and Wendy Lippman

Come learn about the edible and medicinal plants growing in downtown West Asheville, from common garden ornamentals, to the weeds in your lawn, to the non-native invasive species gone wild!  In the years that I have been doing these plant walks we have catalogued over 90 medicinal and edible plants that are growing in the blocks immediately surrounding the Center and the list continues to grow.  Click here to see a list of the plants that we have catalogued so far.

This May 3rd with be the Eighth West Asheville Urban Plant Walk, an event that I host every spring and fall. My co-host this time will be Wendy Lippman, a Certified Herbalist and founder of Wendy’s Wonder Botanicals.  If you missed her last fall you don’t want to pass this up – I learned so much from her I just had to invite her back!

The cost for the walk is $8 for adults (kids are free!) and includes a free handout of local plants. I recommend reserving your spot ahead of time since the walk always sells out.  Sign up in advance at the Center or just come by on the day of the event. You can also call 505-3174 or email nancy@centerholistic.com.  The walk starts at the Center and we basically just walk around the block, if we can even get that far!
